In our world, either you rule yourself or you will be subject to be ruled by someone else. Only those who make their own rules and live by their own code are truly free. After all, how are you truly free if you are bound by another man’s rules?
Of course, to a certain degree, we are all constrained by the laws of the country in which we live. But for the most part, if you are living with honor, most of those laws will not concern you. Laws are made for those who refuse to live a life of honor.
You are as free as you decide to be. The warrior lives a life of character, honor, and integrity, so he is not concerned about laws meant to restrain thugs or men with no honor.
It’s another thing altogether, when there is a man or men in charge with no honor making those laws. That is when men of honor and integrity are labeled outlaws by those in power who have neither honor nor integrity.
Either way, the warrior lives by his own code. He is not concerned with laws that go against his code, nor is he concerned with laws meant to keep lower men in line, as his code keeps him in line. The warrior’s code is much stricter than the law of the land in most cases and is always based on what is right, not necessarily what is legal.
Always keep in mind that just because a group of corrupt politicians says that something is legal, that does not mean that it is right. Moreover, if a group of corrupt politicians says something is illegal, that does not necessarily mean that it is wrong.
The warrior lives his life according to a code of honor, not according to the backroom deals of sleazy politicians with their own agendas. That is what it means to make your own rules and live your life your way. Warrior up and live with honor!
