It is not only the will to win, but the will to prepare that makes a difference. Bohdi Sanders

We have all heard self-help gurus preach that it is the will to win that makes all the difference, but that is not quite right. The overweight, out of shape, guy on the couch, may have the will to win, but that is not going to help him against a well-trained, completely prepared warrior.

It is not only the will to win, but the will to prepare that makes a difference. The will to win is the mental part of the equation; the will to prepare is the physical part. It actually takes both to be completely prepared for whatever may come your way.

The will to win, without the will to prepare, leaves you mentally ready for victory, but without being physically prepare, you will falter. The will to prepare, without the will to win, leaves you physically ready, but mentally weak. Without the mental aspect, you will once again, falter.

You must be completely prepared, not halfway prepared. Halfway ready is not ready at all. Being prepared doesn’t leave anything out. It is always dangerous to leave holes in your preparation.

Remember Achilles! A small chink in your armor can lead to an unexpected defeat. Do your best to ensure that your self-defense is balanced and that you are as prepared as possible, mentally and physically, for whatever you may encounter. Think about this.
